1983 ANNUAL MEETING AMERICAN SOCIETY OF ANDROLOGY HOLIDAY INN - INDEPENDENCE MALL PHILADELPHIA, PENNSYLVANIA MARCH 22, 1983 - POSTGRADUATE COURSE MARCH 23, 24, 25, 1983 - SCIENTIFIC SESSION This vIill be the first announcement for the 1983 A. S .A. Meeting Hhich will be held in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. The hotel. is adjacent to the Liberty Bell, Independence Hall, and numerous historical places. Within 3-5 blocks is the fashionable area known as Society Hill, with countless restaurants and specialty shops for dining and browsing. The postgraduate course will include a morning clinical session and an afternoon basic science session. The topics in the morning Ivill cover the immunology of infertility, microsurgery and male infertility, the use of zona-free hamster eggs in the diagnosis of male infertility, and the management of varicoceles. The afternoon topics will cover the use of monoclonal antibodies and hydridomas, cell culture techniques for the testis and pituitary gland. A State-of-the-Art lecture will be given on each day of the s·tientific sessions. These lectures will be "Sperm 110tility and Epididymal Storage", Michael Bedford, Ph.D., "The Role of the H-Y Antigen in Sex Determination", Stephen Wachtel, Ph.D., and "The Binding of Peptide Hormones To Cellular Target Tis sues II, Ira Pasten, M. D. In addition, a workshop is planned for Wednesday evening, March 23, 1983. A panel will cover "The Longterm Consequences of Vasectomy". A wine and cheese party and a poster session will follow the Horkshop. An informal get together will open the proceedings on the evening of March 22, 1983. The banquet is scheduled for Thursday, March 24, 1983. The meeting will be sponsored by Cooper Medical Center, Camden, Ne\y Jersey (A clinical campus hospital of Rutgers Medical School). Continuing medical education credits will be certified by the Academy of Medicine of New Jersey. An award will be given for the best student paper by the West Michigan Reproductive Institute.
