I. Meeting convened at 5:00 p.m. Review of the Minutes of the ~ecutive
Council meeting of ASA, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, August ~O, ~976:
The Minutes were approved by unanimous vote of the CounciL with one
clarification. When the Council offers emeritus membership to an actiY~ member
of the Society when they retire, such retirement refers specifically ~o the
cessation of permanent employment. A special note of thanks was offered ~o
Dr. Richard Sherins for his efforts in constructing the detailed Minutes of this
Interim Meeting.
II. Report of the President:
Dr. Steinberger expressed his satisfaction with the enormous growth
and development of this new Society during its second year. The increased membership
as well as the interest in the second annual meeting attest to the grauing success of
the organization. Two major problems were presented to the Officers and Council for
an extended discussion:
1. The role of ASA in support of CIDA, and
2. The question of whether we continue to support the Journal Andrologia.
Dr. Rune Elliason, President of CIDA, has specifically requested that ASA
state its position with regard to the International role of CIDA as an umbrella
organization and to provide comments about how to improve the existing Andrologia Journal.
Dr. Steinberger will be attending the Executive Council Meeting of CLDa in April, 1977,
in L'Aquila, Italy.
