Hafez Eugenia Rosenberg Thoma s Evans Review of the Minutes of the Executive Interim Council Meeting of ASA, Philadel phia, Pennsylvania, August 10, 1976: The Minut e s were approved by unanimous vote of the Council wi th one clarification. When the Council offers emeritus membership to an active member of the Society when they retire, such retirement refers specifically to the cessation of permanent employment. A speci al note of thanks was offered to Dr. Richard Sherins for his e ffort s in constructing the detailed Minutes of this Int e r i m Meeting . II. Report of the President: Dr. Steinberger expressed his satisfaction with the enormous growth and development of this new Society during its second year. The increased membership as well as the interest in the second annual meeting attest to the growing success of the organization. Two major problems were presented to the Officers and Council for an e xtended discussion: -1-
