Born July 2, 1841 at Lyons, N. Y. Educated at
Elmira Seminary and taught several years.
Married Geo. E. Dudley 1858.  After his death
in 1860, she taught in the Detroit Female
Seminary.  Married  A. S. Welch in 1868. She was
first prof. & organizer of Domestic Economy at
lAC. Lived in Calif. after Pres. Welch's death
in 1889. In 1890 she married Dwight MoseleyWelch
brother of A. S. Welch. Died Jan 2, 1923

(According to a write-up by Winifred Dudley
Shaw of her remembrances of the early days of
the College, she said that "a delicate woman
and four little children arrived. I suppose
that means Winifred Dudley, Genevieve Welch,
William B. Welch and Harry Welch. I would
have expected five children to arrive, so I
wonder if George Evans Dudley died when quite
small. Another account of Winifred Dudley
Shaw said her mother was left a widow with
two children at the age of nineteen, So it
would seem that George was living at the time  
of his father's death. I have expected to
find some reference that Winifred Dudley Shaw
 made to her only brother. but I have not found
anything.)
Geo. Dudley Jr.  did not live with
Mother till he went to college.
Was born Sept 12, 1860 in Detroit Mich at home of
Uncle Quincy Beaumont & live
then till grown  Died about 1898
in Omaha Neb.
