Dr. L. H. Pammel
Ames Iowa.
My dear Prof. Pammel,
I have just received Bulletin No. 1, of the Iowa Geological Survey, and I take a great deal of interest, pleasure and profit in looking over this work. I think without doubt it is one of the best publications of the kind that I have ever seen. It is what I have been looking forward to for some time and will, therefore, be of inestimable value to me in my work here, as it has a bearing upon several phases of it.
I trust you are quite well. I am sure your work is progressing nicely. I hear only good reports from your department. Tendering my very best wishes to yourself and family, I beg leave to remain,
Yours very truly,
Geo. W. Carver.
